I Love, love, love Spring!

It's my second favorite season!

The harsh cold winter is over and there's still some time to enjoy being outside before the heat of summer confines me to my refrigerated environment.

Look who moved into a nice little home on our back porch! Mama Robin gets pretty ticked off every time we go out the back door and down the stairs. She flies over to the fence post and puts up quite a fuss! Can't really blame her. Look at those sweet little babies to be!

I'll post more pics after they hatch of Mama will allow it.

Another finished project!

Yesterday I finally finished Tukker's crib quilt.

It turned out so pretty.
It was all about textures! Each square is a different texture. Satin, Lace, corduroy, terry. I machine quilted it but attached ribbons at the corners so it appears to be tied with the ribbons.I used chenille for the backing and binding so it's extra cuddly.

She seems to like it!

Now I just need to make the matching curtains, diaper stacker, changing pad cover, and rocking chair pads. Grandma's work is never done.

Dinner!

Thanks to a recent great sale on salmon I was able to make a fave of ours.

Salmon with Colorful Cream Sauce

Doesn't it look tasty?

Colorful Cream Sauce

2 Tablespoons oil

1 large onion, diced

1 large green bell pepper, diced

1/2 cup dry vermouth

1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon ground allspice

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 cup sour cream

3/4 cup tomato peeled, seeded and diced

Saute onion and green pepper until wilted. Add vermouth and cook over high heat until liquids are reduced to 2-3 tablespoons. Add seasoning and heavy cream, bring to a boil and cook about 3 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from heat. Stir in sour cream and tomatoes. Taste for seasoning. Yield: approx 2 cups sauce

Enjoy!
