It's a hot Christmas mess over here.

The Christmas decoration bins have finally found their way up the stairs. They have been stacked in towers around the family room for a few days.
And the tree in the family room was put up a couple of days ago. Just erected. There hasn't been time for decorating yet.
But our calendar seems to be dead set against letting us concentrate for any length of time on getting the decorating done.
Today I finally just let Emily and Jaxon decorate the tree while we waited for Roger to get home from work.

My Mom is coming to visit tomorrow. Maybe I can rope her into helping me get the rest of the decorating done.
Here are our special ornaments for this year. In honor of our summer vacation. Which I will eventually finish blogging about. ugh!
My silly tree decorators...
We had a quick dinner once Roger got home and then headed out for some Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks (chocolate milk for Jaxon!) and a trip to Thanksgiving Point for the holiday lights display.

very cool kinetic ice sculpture

We even bought a pair of 3D glasses which Jaxon totally loved using to view the light displays.
We paid $8 to drive through this roughly 1.5 mile display. As bitter cold as it has been this week, I was happy to pay it and sit inside our warm vehicle, snuggled up to hot cups of mocha.
