There they grow!

Last night was junior high registration for Emily.
It's been a while since we've done that!
She was so excited. In the chatty, giggly, hyper, nervous, fidgety way that pre-adolescent girls get.
Her elective choices are art and theater which suit her perfectly.
The school is full to capacity, and seventh graders get last pick of electives, so we'll see if those classes really end up on her schedule. I hope they do. I think she'd really find a place to shine in those classes.

Kenzie earned her CNA a little over a year ago in her junior year of high school. She's been looking for a job ever since then but there have been challenges. First we put the old house on the market and hadn't really decided where we were going to be moving to. That made it hard to know where she should look for work.
Then, after we moved, she started applying for all the CNA positions she could find, with no luck.
Then she started applying for any job at all. Just something to start earning some money to put away for college this Fall.
I think her luck finally changed when she turned 18 last month.
She got a job as a CNA!!!
And today is her first day of work.
That seemed worthy of a "first day" photo.
I'm so excited for her. Her first job in the field she wants to make a career in.
I hope she finds it fun, challenging, rewarding.
It'll be tough for her as she finishes up her senior year of high school while working too. But I think she'll be amazing, as always.
I love watching these girls grow.

I have one who will start middle school this fall, and one who is a Senior, too. It is strange to think that my oldest child will be going "away" this fall. Next school year I will have one child in elementary, one in middle school, and one in high school (Sigh! Weren't they all just little kids, yestereday?). Good luck to your daughter; she'll do a great job!
