For our Random Act of Kindness we decided to share our breakfast muffins with a few neighbors.
Pumpkin chocolate chip, wrapped with care...
...and delivered to smiling neighbors.
Then we were off to lunch at Arctic Circle where Jaxon was more interested in the play area than his lunch. Of course.
And Emily assumed what has become her natural position ever since she bought herself a Zune.
Next stop, the Walmarts for a birthday gift for Thena Bean.
Pretty nice play structure, right? But that's not what we got her. ;)
We got her a very nice Rapunzel dress up (the girly Athena loves her dress ups!) and a cute summer outfit that Jaxon chose for her.
While we shopped, Emily...well...you know...
The plan at that point was to go to the Living Planet Aquarium. Alas, when we pulled into the over stuffed parking lot and glanced toward the door we saw that that day was a special day dedicated to every home schooler on the planet. Good grief! The line wrapped around the building and they were still getting off buses! No thanks.
Plan B was around the corner at Jungle Jim's Playland. Site of at least two dozen of our family's birthday parties over the years.
Jaxon loves these things. Like the ones outside of grocery stores and such. But he will not climb on one until you promise NOT to put a quarter in.
He liked these jeeps because they don't leave the ground and they move very slowly.
He didn't mind the bumper cars with Emily. But they got a dud car that kept getting stuck against the wall no matter what Emily tried to get it to move.
Last ride of the day was the Merry go Round which, in the end, was too fast for Jaxon and he was shouting that he wanted off of it. Anxiety much, little man?
I gotta say, I think we're over jungle Jim's. Just didn't feel like much fun given Jaxon's anxieties about the rides and Emily's reluctance (anxiety? It's an epidemic!) to approach the employees to ask them to start the rides she wanted to go on. Which is the method of operation on slow days at Jungle Jim's.
Last stop for the day was a haircut for Jaxon.
You know, at his "special salon" where they practically put on a circus act to distract him and charge double the price of an ordinary salon but we have to go there or he'll freak out about getting his haircut because he has some anxiety issues. Have I mentioned? oy!
After a quick dinner at home we went to see Cars 2 which we all enjoyed.
It was a busy day! We checked three things off our Summer Fun List in one day!

Yeah for a fun day! Yeah for distracting children while they get their haircut! I really need to up the summer fun before it's over. Where is time going so fast?
