This is the first time Jaxon has had his birthday party on his actual birthday. I guess that isn't too bad when you consider that he has only had 3 birthdays. I wonder if I'm completely out of the running for Mother of The Year? His first was delayed because his Grandma was in the hospital and we had hoped she would get better and be able to come home for his party. She didn't get better though and so the party was put off till after her funeral and the world stopped it's insane spin. It was in September.
His second I don't even have a good excuse. It just didn't happen. Till a month later when we had a joint birthday party for him and Tukker.
But this year I got it together. A simple hamburger and hot dog cook out followed by cake and ice cream. And, of course, lots of friends and family.
Misty made the cake for us. Her daughter got married a few months ago and the groom's cake was a really great dragon. Jaxon has been talking about a dragon cake for his birthday ever since then. Misty really pulled it off for us. The cake was AWESOME!
He got lots of really fun toys. Roger and I thought he'd like an outside toy to play with so we got him this "moko cycle". (His word.) We took him outside to test drive it and he freaked out. He started crying and insisting we take it back inside because "a car will run over me!". LOL I guess I don't have to worry TOO much about him running out in traffic, huh? So he rode his "moko cycle" in the house all day today.
Since all his friends his own age are his own nieces and nephews, they were all here to celebrate with us.*BTW If you would like to have kitchen floors like mine, all you need is ancient linoleum, a few toddlers, watermelon, cake and ice cream. Only takes about 2 hours. :)

Wow! That cake is incredible! I wonder if Misty would share how she did that. I'm always looking for good ideas for the future.
Sounds like the party was an absolute blast. Very cool!
SO COOL!!! That is the best cake ever!!! Wow. I bet Jaxon loved it!
Carson has the exact same bike. Well, did.. you saw it minus the front wheel. :-S
And I'm very proud, not one back picture!!! :-D
That cake is beyond AMAZING. and you look great!!
We had lots of fun and Lily slept good all night lol. I'll have to get some of my pics up soon.
Heidi~ Misty is so talented, huh? The cake involved fondant, airbrushing and an enormous amount of talent. Clearly not a job for me. LOL
Becky~ I just didn't post the back pictures.
Sharon~ Thanks from Misty. And from me.
Amber~ I've noticed Jaxon sleeps better after he gets some playtime with friends. That wasn't the case the night of his birthday unfortunately. He was so hyped up it took several hours to get him to sleep well.
Rachel~ I do love Kohl's. ;) Bet ya thought I didn't see ya, huh?
