~I never did buy anymore Diet Coke. Haven't had any in the house since early December. Well, actually, we bought a 2 liter bottle for Kenzie's birthday party. But I didn't have any of it. We replaced it with tea. Decaffeinated and artificially (lightly) sweetened. I don't even miss it. I do get a fountain drink once or twice a week at the gas station tho. Just to be honest. ;)
~The housekeeping schedule is going surprisingly well. I guess I just operate best with structure. And structure can get a little lost in the days of a stay at home mom. There's no time clock or annual performance evaluation. So this is good. It's good for me AND the house. I like walking into a clean room. I know, I'm weird. The whole house was pretty clean all week long. It got a little cluttered during the weekend when everyone was home but tidying up was quick and easy.
~There is one sore spot in the house. Emily's room. I'm at the end of my rope. And so is she. I'm going to clean it up one last time for her next week. She'll be off track. And we're going to get rid of HALF her stuff. I predict blood, sweat and tears. Well, hopefully not blood. But I think she is one of those people that just can't let go of things even though the condition of having too many things makes her unhappy and overwhelmed. I must break her of this before she is an adult and appearing on one of those reality shows about hoarders. Mustn't let her become the woman who sleeps in a lawn chair on the back porch because her home is piled too high to occupy with STUFF.
~There's nothing cuter in my mind today than a 2 year old little boy belting out, "I just can't waaaaaiiiiit to be kiiiiiiiing!!". Nope. Can't think of a thing.

Lol glad things are doing good on the cleaning. I know what you mean about walking into a clean room. I'm OCD when it comes to cleaning and I just can't stand dirt.
It's good that you're helping Emily with cleaning her room. I still have a hard time getting rid of things lol.
Love you and hope to see you soon!
I know Kenzie really saw the benefit a while back when you helped her de-clutter. She really "got it". Every once in awhile I hear her say something about the philosophy and how it works for her to not have so much stuff.
I am surprised you went that way on replacing the Diet Coke. Congrats on doing so well without the perpetual stash in the house!
Are you brewing your own tea?
We are brewing our own. My Mom, Verna and Steve gave us a Walmart gift card for Christmas so we bought a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker. I've been experimenting with flavored tea bags along with the basic tea. It's good. And I'm drinking more fluids too. So that's good right?
Sooo much cheaper too!
Sorry. I hope Coke won't crumble without my business. ;)
Drinking more fluids is a very good thing. Cheaper helps too.
We've already felt the slowdown at work. I was wondering what had happened until I read this post... we'll recover eventually.
I had been considering doing up my two pitchers of tea and lemonade at the beginning of the week. I think I would drink more fluids with options ready to go in the fridge.
T: Those CARROTS look good.... Care to share what you did to/with them? (is it a recipe or are they just steamed) .. xo *mel
OOps posted on wrong spot..that should have gone with the Balkin Meatballs post! xoxo *Mel
LOL The carrots are just steamed and then smothered in BUTTER!!!! ;)
It sounds like you have a huge task on your plate. I was talking to Christy about getting Sammi a radio with a cassette player for Sammi, someone gave us a bunch of tapes for the kids. I was wondering while your decluttering and you run across something like this and if you happen to be interested in giving it away I would be very interested. You just can not find may radios with a cassette player these days.
Sorry Amy, we don't even own one I don't think.
Thanks anyway.
Hey Amy, I found this...
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=9919804
Is there a Walmart near you?
Their site actually shows 2 or 3 with a radio plus cassette. This was the least expensive.
And there's a CD player too on the same boom box. That would probably come in handy for her as she's getting older anyway.
